Read Part 1 about Snowbird and Cecret Lake if you missed it!
Yes, you read that right. Utah, Part 2 is Wyoming.
Turns out Wyoming is only a little over an hour from Salt Lake City. Go to Wyoming? Absolutely.
Jennifer and I travel well together, simply because neither one of us is very big on planning things. We had a vague idea of what we wanted to do, but nothing set in stone. So when we found out Wyoming was so close, and I suggested, hey let’s go have lunch in Wyoming, Jennifer was all for it. Neither of us had ever been, so why not?
After looking at the map we decided to stop in Evanston, Wyoming, which is literally across the state line. We figured we’d have lunch, drive around, see what we could find, and then head home. My rule for marking a state off my list is that I have to have spent at least a little time there – more than an hour – so lunch would do that. That was the extent of our plans, so off we went.
We ate lunch at a little place called Jody’s Diner that got great reviews on Yelp. Jennifer had the chicken fried steak and I had the hamburger steak…both were delicious. It was a fun little place, with cheap food and definitely local.
We prowled around Evanston a little, then made our way over to Bear River State Park, where the park ranger gave us awesome stickers and told us to take the Highway home for a more scenic route. So that’s what we did, after checking out the elk and bison in the park.
