It’s about time for another fitness challenge!
Sure, I’m more or less keeping up with my 200+ days (though I’ve gotten really lazy about tracking them). But it’s getting boring, and I need to spice it up. I also keep talking about how I’m going to run a 5K this year, and then there’s the whole 30th Birthday Beach Bash looming right around the corner. And let’s not forget all the Instagram posts of people I know running half marathons (I’m excited for them, seriously. I’m also insanely jealous.)
So when I got an email from Spark People about the May Miles challenge, I thought….HECK YEAH!!! I can so do that. A mile a day, every day, during the month of May. Walk, run, bike, swim, whatever.
At the end of the month, I’ll have done 31 miles, minimum. That’s pretty freakin’ exciting. That’s like….from my house to downtown Knoxville. Or to work and halfway back.
I’m doing it.
I’m not putting rules on it, other than doing it, but I’m going to push myself to not just walk them all. And to not just stick to the minimum of 1 mile a day. I know there will be days when 1 mile is all I can do, but there will also be days when I can do more. Hold me to it!!! We’ll see how far I get…..and when I’m done, we’ll plot it on a map.
Annnnnnnddd because I feel like a reward, and let’s be honest…I really want (and actually really NEED) new running shoes, on June 1st I’ll buy myself a pair of Nike Frees. In a really obnoxious color. Because running shoes should be bright.
Anyone else up for it?
