Sneak Peak: Royalton Riviera Cancun

In just a few days, we’ll be off to Mexico for the 4th year in a row. If you’ve noticed, our trips are getting closer and closer together. I firmly believe it’s unethical to go more than 9 months without some beach time!

We debated long and hard about where to stay this year, and whether to go back to the Valentin Imperial Maya or try somewhere new. (Catalonia wasn’t on our radar again, primarily because of the drinks.) We narrowed it down to a handful, and our travel agent was able to get us a pretty good deal to Hideaway at Royalton Riviera Cancun.

Royalton is a huge resort compared to what we’re used to, so that’ll be a fun experience. Hideaway is the adults-only portion of the resort, though we’ll have access to the rest as well. Where there will be children.

I know, I know. Children aren’t my thing.

But neither are obnoxious adults, and I figure the kids will be in the kids area, and if they’re screaming, at least they’ll be having fun instead of screaming about politics or something else I don’t want to listen to. (We’ll see how that goes.) We’re interested in trying somewhere with kids to see if it’s a big deal or not, and since there’s plenty of places to get away from them, it should be ok.

Anyway, Royalton is huge. We’ve got a swim-up room, and we’re super excited about it. There are a million restaurants and pools. And it’s like 15 minutes from the airport. Once again, I doubt we’ll leave the resort, but you never know. Maybe we’ll decide to live dangerously! 😉

Stay tuned for the review and make-you-jealous pictures!
